The Golden Cup was held for the first time in 2022.
This tournament was created to foster learning, bring together diverse nations and cultures, promote various methods of teaching football, and most importantly, to play, discover, and enjoy the game.
In the group stage, participants are divided into groups.
After that, the top two places go to the Gold Phase, and the rest of the participants play in the Silver Phase, where matches are held according to the cup system.
At the end of the tournament, awards will be given out during the Closing Ceremony to honor both squads and individual players.
Team awards will include the “Fair-Play” Trophy, a trophy for 1st, 2nd and a for 3rd place.
Individual awards will include a trophy for the best outfield player, goalkeeper, and top scorer in each category.
After matches, teams can explore historic landmarks like the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, or take a scenic tram ride through the city’s vibrant streets.
A visit to the famous Estádio da Luz is a must for football fans.
For relaxation, you can enjoy the stunning beaches of Cascais, just a short drive away, or unwind at one of Lisbon’s many parks.
